"ok for the price we paid
It was suitable for what we needed nice area close to beach everything we needed was provided could have done with some leaflets of places to visit although most places are closed in February. Owner text a couple of times which was nice of them only problem I had no signal on my phone anywhere in the area and had to leave Polzeath to use my phone. Wifi worked very well though. Certainly much better than some places we have stayed in the past. Track to the property has some nasty pot holes but at least it slows any traffic down which is good when kids are about. Parking for one car is a bit tight at front of property but sufficient easily for a smallish car and I have an MPV but managed ok All in all we enjoyed our stay and there are some wonderful walks in the area." - 4 star rating

"Underwhelming
I'll start with the positive point which is the close proximity to the beach and amenities. The beach is just a short walk along the track or up over the cliff via the coast path. Unfortunately the accommodation is tired and needs some TLC along with a good deep clean. On arrival at Tidewood you are greeted by a rather untidy entrance way with the vacuum cleaner and various mops, brushes and debris from previous visitors dumped in the corner. The accommodation is rather smaller than the photos depict and there is no way you would fit more than 4 people on the couch. It feels as though lip service is paid to the facilities as there is a mish mash of different kitchen implements. I even had to go out a buy a can opener. The kitchen areas needs a bit of updating. Under the double bed I found a pair of pants and socks. Apart from a rather rickity wardrobe there is little storage space in the main bedroom. The bedside cabinets are what I can only describe as laundry baskets. In the second bedroom with the bunk beds the dirt along the skirting boards was quite disgusting and obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while.
The description of this property puts it in a quiet lane. It might have been before they put a caravan site 50 metres away from the property. I have been in tents with better sound Insulation. You can hear every conversation of people toing and froing, especially at about 1:30am on their way home from the pub. Off road parking? Well if you call squeezing your car right up next to the front of the property so that people splashing through the ford right outside your property don't scrape down the side of your car. The decking area is a complete mess which is dominated by a large tree which drops what I believe to be seeds all over anything in the back.
This is little more than a large wooden beach hut. Would I return? Definitely not. Would I recommend this holiday property? No I would not." - 2 star rating
