"Fabulous but some concerns
This is without doubt a beautiful house. The views are spectacular and the location convenient for just about everywhere. The house is comfortable and well furnished and kitted. The house lends itself well to all weathers - we had 10 fabulous days and 3 dreadful days and the house just went from sunny beauty to cosy beauty. The decking area is fabulous. I loved it but... The house could be cleaner though I often wonder without taking a weeks break from lettings how does a deep clean ever happen to holiday cottages. Things of note were the grubby oven, the extractor fan dripped grunge down on to the hob when hot and down the sides of appliances. The bedding - hmm I did not discover until week two when I opted to change my own sheets but the mattress protector and pillows had yellow stains on them! Not nice. The information provided in the house information book is out of date which call me a fool but this is always my first turn to item when I arrive in a holiday house. The ground floor bathroom window does not shut/lock. I cannot comment on the upstairs I was staying there on my own but with my two dogs. So arrived, looked upstairs, made a decision and never went back up again! Don't be fooled by the pics of the TV lounge - this is a waste of space room about 4 foot x 4 foot but I suppose if you want to shove the kids somewhere... I would not personally want to stay there with a large group as there are only two bathrooms for a potential stay of 10! That would not be holiday fun for me. Although the details say it is a dog friendly property renters need to be aware that the garden is not dog safe. The bottom part of the garden has been fenced off - not sure why maybe building another small lodge? It is surrounded by hedges etc but any dog including a lap dog would find its way out within seconds. We coped using a rather bizarre situation of 20m leads tied next onto each other. The garden is stepped and steep and this could prove difficult for both dog owners and people with children. The steps are slippy in the wet. Be aware if your dog is used to pee and poo on grass - there is none.. we had quite a challenging first week finding one of mine somewhere to go - she got over it eventually! The details do not say dog safe just friendly but dog owners need to know that they cannot just turn their dog out into the garden without risk. So having grumbled - with just a little work this could be almost the perfect house (if dog safe garden - I never want to do those steps again in the dark particularly after a couple of glasses of wine.) I do recommend this property the location, views and comfort are excellent."
