About Porthgwarra Beach
A small fishing village with a small beach in a deep narrow inlet. There are facilities in the village and parking but also a dog ban in the summer. You can swim here and it's fairly safe to do so in the cove, but not further out to sea. Seasonal cafe. A tunnel cut in the rock allows for easy access to the beach. Porthgwarra was the location used as the fishing cove in Poldark (pilchards scene) and that early morning swim Ross Poldark one took..
