About St Ives

St Ives, perhaps the most beautiful of the Cornish towns, won the Best UK Seaside Town award from the British Travel Awards recently for 2 years running. The streets are narrow and not good for driving but are always bustling with visitors. It's long been famous as a haunt of artists, with many in residence and is the home of the Tate St Ives, which famously houses many works from Barbara Hepworth who lived and worked here. Historically it was always a fishing town, but more recently the fishing has all but died out and the locals concentrate more on looking after the steady stream of holiday visitors. A recommended 'must visit' while in Cornwall!
